How to Deposit Crypto on OKX Safely: Network, Address and Memo Checklist
A step-by-step OKX crypto deposit checklist: match the asset and network, copy the full address and memo details, verify the minimum, and troubleshoot a delayed transfer.
Depositing crypto on OKX safely depends on matching three things: the asset, the blockchain network, and the complete destination details. A valid-looking address is not enough. If the network differs, a required memo is missing, or the token is unsupported, the transfer may not be credited and recovery is not guaranteed.
This guide is for someone moving crypto they already own from another exchange or wallet into an OKX exchange account. Product availability, verification requirements, menu labels and supported networks vary by region, so your live OKX deposit page is the final source of truth.
Before you deposit: identify the destination
First confirm that you intend to receive funds in the custodial OKX exchange account, not the separate self-custody wallet. If that distinction is unclear, read the OKX exchange account versus Web3 Wallet explanation before generating an address.
Then complete this preparation:
- Sign in through the official OKX app or a trusted bookmark. Do not follow a deposit link from an email, advertisement or direct message.
- Finish any identity or account-security requirements shown for your region. New users can work through the OKX account setup and security checklist first.
- Write down the exact asset, the platform or wallet sending it, and the networks available on the sending side.
- Check that the amount arriving after the sending fee will exceed the minimum shown on OKX.
- For a meaningful amount, consider a small test transfer. Repeat every check before sending the remainder.
How to deposit crypto on OKX
1. Open the live deposit page
On the OKX website, sign in and select Deposit. In the app, the current official instructions show a Deposit crypto shortcut from the home screen; another route may appear under Assets or Portfolio → Deposit, depending on the regional version.

The official OKX Help Center page used to verify this guide. It contains no deposit address or account information; always generate destination details inside your own signed-in account.
2. Select the exact asset
Choose the crypto you intend to receive. Similar names, tickers or logos do not prove that two tokens are interchangeable. When OKX displays a contract address for a token, compare it with the asset on the sending platform.
If the asset or the intended network does not appear on your OKX deposit page, stop. Do not choose the “closest” token or network.
3. Choose a network supported at both ends
OKX will display the networks currently available for that asset and account. Select a network that the sending wallet or exchange also supports. The crypto name and network must match on both screens.
Do not choose a network only because it has the lowest fee. A cheaper route is useless if the receiving platform does not support it. Network labels can also differ between platforms, so confirm the underlying blockchain rather than relying on colour or logo.
The live OKX page may show the minimum deposit, required confirmations, contract address and special notices. Check those values during every transfer instead of copying a number from an older tutorial.
4. Copy the address and any memo, tag or comment
Copy the deposit address generated for your selected asset and network. If OKX also displays a memo, tag or comment, copy that exact value too. Some platforms use a shared blockchain address and the additional identifier tells them which customer balance to credit.
The rule is simple:
- If OKX displays a memo, tag or comment, enter both it and the address.
- If no additional field is displayed, do not invent one.
- If the sending platform provides no place for a required identifier, stop and contact that platform before sending.
Never copy an address from this article, a search result, support message or screenshot. Generate it in your own account for the selected asset and network.
5. Enter and verify the details on the sending side
Open the withdrawal or send screen where the funds are currently held. Then:
- select the same asset;
- select the same blockchain network;
- paste the OKX deposit address;
- paste the exact memo, tag or comment if required;
- check the amount expected to arrive after fees; and
- compare characters at the beginning and end of the pasted address with the OKX screen.
Do not type a long address manually. A QR code can reduce typing errors, but you should still verify the decoded address and network before confirming. Clipboard-replacement malware is another reason to compare the pasted value rather than trusting the copy action.
6. Review, authenticate and save the TxID
On the final confirmation screen, check the asset, network, address, additional identifier, amount and fee one more time. Complete the sending platform’s security checks and submit the transfer.
Save the transaction ID, also called the TxID or transaction hash. It is the evidence needed to check the blockchain and to open a useful support request.
Why the network choice matters
Many assets can move on more than one blockchain. That flexibility creates a common failure mode: the ticker matches, but the route does not.
Use this order of decisions:
- Open the receiving page on OKX.
- See which networks OKX currently accepts for the chosen asset.
- Confirm that the sending platform can withdraw the same asset on the same network.
- Only then compare the available fees and processing conditions.
If the two platforms do not share a supported network, do not send that asset directly between them. Converting or bridging assets introduces separate costs and risks and should not be improvised during a deposit.
Five mistakes that can prevent crediting
Asset matches, network does not
The same ticker can be available on several blockchains. Both the asset and network must match.
Unsupported token or contract
Tokens may share a name or exist under different contracts. Confirm support on the live deposit page and compare the contract details when provided.
Amount is below the displayed minimum
OKX states that the applicable minimum is shown on the deposit page. Check the net amount after the sending-side fee. Do not assume that an amount below the minimum will be credited.
Required memo or tag is missing
The blockchain transaction can reach an exchange-controlled address without being mapped to your account. Treat the additional identifier as part of the destination whenever OKX displays it.
Details came from an old screenshot
Addresses, supported networks and notices can change. Use screenshots only to understand the workflow, never as a source of destination data.
What to do when an OKX deposit has not arrived
Do not send a second transfer to “push” the first one through. Start by collecting evidence:
- Check the sender. Confirm that the withdrawal was submitted and copy the TxID.
- Check the blockchain. Search the TxID on an explorer for the selected network. If it is pending, the required confirmations may not have completed. If no transaction exists, it may not have been broadcast.
- Check OKX deposit history. A detected transfer may still be waiting for confirmations.
- Recheck every field. Compare the asset, network, address, token contract where relevant, memo or tag, and net amount with the current OKX page.
- Use official support. If the blockchain shows completion but OKX has not credited the deposit, submit the TxID, asset, amount, network, time and relevant screenshots. If the problem was a missing or incorrect memo, include the correct identifier requested by the support form.
OKX says recovery after a wrong address or network is not guaranteed. Anyone privately promising certain recovery in exchange for a seed phrase, private key or advance payment should be treated as a scammer. Legitimate exchange support does not need your seed phrase or private key.
If you are planning the opposite direction, use the separate safe OKX withdrawal checklist for networks, fees and address verification.
30-second checklist before confirming
- I am depositing into the intended OKX product and account.
- The crypto asset is the same on both screens.
- The blockchain network is the same on both screens.
- The address still matches after pasting or scanning.
- I entered the exact memo, tag or comment shown by OKX, if required.
- The net amount is above the minimum displayed on the live deposit page.
- I understand the sending fee and can retrieve the TxID.
- For a meaningful amount, I considered a small test transfer.
The safest deposit is deliberately boring: generate details on the live receiving page, match every field, verify after pasting and keep the transaction record.
